Circle of Support Gala-Concert & Auction (Sunday -October 24, 2010)
Featuring the Grammy Nominated All Female Jazz Group
STRAIGHT AHEAD
The Annual Circle of Support Gala features a live concert by noted musical artist. Following the concert , their is a pot reception and exciting auction with many great items, great food, and authograph session! The proceeds will benefit families who need your help by providing funds to continue the wonderful work and mission of CWAH.

Annual People Against Poverty Campaign (Held in December)
Adopted Families for Christmas/Kwanzza
During the holiday season, CWAH has the “People Against Poverty Campaign”, in partnership with the St. Louis American; 10- 15 families [who have written to the paper] are selected to help and be“adopt” during the holiday season. The familes are chosen by a Special Selection Committee - not The STL American or CWAH.
Read the St. Louis American to gain insight on what some families need, or contact CWAH, and select a family to adopt and tailor your giving specifically to them. [monetary gift, gift cards. NEW clothing, shoes, toys, books, school supplies, furniture, appliances, assistance with utility bills, etc.]
The families chosen will become CWAH clients and will continue to participate in the programs & workshops offered by CWAH.
It is also, and perhaps more importantly, a golden opportunity to give back
Once the familes are selected, they are contacted and a volunteer case manager (along with the CWAH social worker). They visit the family to see what are their concerns and needs. A Christmas/Kwanzza celebration is given to all the selected familes; where they are given a special dinners and their donated gifts. Those families then become CWAH clients and began to attend the CWAH programs and workshops to become more self sufficient.
